Solar Electric Project
In January 2021 the new solar electric panels at the Seven Oaks Community Center went live.
Design Objectives
-          156 Panasonic panels
-          53kW (DC) output
-          Target production – 79,021 kWH, representing 62% of the Community Center annual consumption
-          Target Return On Investment 6 to 7 years
Results to Date
-          Actual production for the months March 2021 to February 2022 is 4% greater than the target/design production
-          A new Time Of Use billing plan with SDG&E was adopted in Sept 2021
-          SDG&E costs for Sept 2021 to Feb 2022 were $9,455
-          The equivalent costs in 2019-2020 (before shutdown) were $24,635
Commentary
Because of the Covid shutdown the actual Seven Oaks member utilization of the Community Center, and hence the consumption of electricity in 2021 was not representative of previous years. We continue to monitor the data and will update this report periodically.
Current assessment of the results is that the electricity power output is as designed and the cost savings and ROI are on target.
